Current mood: apathetic My brother's best friend's dad Got sentenced to 11 years and 9 months In prison today. For collaborating with and indulging in Child pornography. My brother's best friend and his family Used to be out neighbors they lived down the street from us Many a good time was had at their yard at the end of Edenton Rd. It was the best yard on the street Cos of all the room. Many a Edenton Road Easter Egg Hunt Took place there, for several years. We'd play duck duck goose Among other games and finding the eggs (and hiding them!) Was such fun. My brother's best friend's dad Caused them to have to move From their nice, cosy house Into a cramped apartment Across a busy street from us. My brother's best friend's dad Is the reason his wife is going to Divorce him. ~~/~~/~~/~~/~~/~~/~~/~~/~~/~~/~~/ The North Carolina court system Decided to make an example of him, to warn others who are doing the same things, Making the same mistakes he did, That they take this crime very seriously. So seriously that they sent the FBI to his house On the early morning of July 4, 2004. A day that was celebrated for America's freedom, And they wanted to lock my brother's best friend's dad away. They seized his computer, And raided his house And found numerous unmentionables, And went down to Georgia to arrest him In front of his church youth group retreat As if it wasn't embarrassing enough. He was publicly humiliated, someone who was a loyal churchgoer, loved kids, and was a good father. It brought shame on his family. My brother's best friend's dad Won't get to see his son grow up. Becuase he was 12 when he went to jail, Then 13 when he was sentenced today. He will be 24 years old when his dad gets out. And I doubt that his son will want to have anything to do With him. Who caused so much shame, media attention, And general bad vibes on his family. How could a man do such a thing? And apparently he had been addicted to Child porn for a number of years. I don't know how the court knew, But they found out that it had been going on since the 1970s. What a dispicable thing to do. To bring such shame on your family And force them to move because your wife, Your loyal wife who stood by your side, and slept in your bed, Could not afford to make the mortgage payments every month. All I have to say is this: Way to go, asshole. May you never forget What a stupid, selfish thing you did, And all the consequences that followed it.
